Fancy Food Show 2011
Thank you to all that journied through the Taste of Africa Pavilion, sampling the flavors created by more than 30 African companies.
Visitors savored tropical fruit jams from Senegal and snack on cashews and mangoes from Burkina Faso. They delighted in decadent chocolate from Madagascar and irresistible fruit fusions from Mauritius and spiced up their summer barbeques “braai” with tantalizing sauces and spice blends from South Africa.
The Taste of Africa pavilion showcased world-class companies such as Rozendal Vinegar, winner of the 2010 Gold Sofi Award for outstanding new product.
Celebrity chef and cookbook author, Dominique Macquet of Dominique’s On Magazine in New Orleans, demonstrated cooking with Africa’s flavors!
This year Taste of Africa partnered with Sarah Commerford, a food blogger. Her blog What's Cooking In Your World? follows Sarah's experiences cooking one meal from all 193 countries in the world. Be sure to visit her blog to see her photos and recipes for five West African countries that took part in the Taste of Africa Pavilion!
